How did I spend my second day in Japan? Well, I spent the entire day in my box of a room, downloading music, movies and TV shows onto my computer. Laying on my tatame mattress holed away from the brisk wind and foreign language. I ate sushi and other fast food from the 7-11 which was right around the corner, that shit was good.

Japanese girls

My first day here I met up with Carla, I met her when I was in Panama City last year. She has since joined the navy and is stationed in Tokyo. It’s pretty rad that within less than 24 hours of landing I was wandering around Tokyo with someone I had met last year in another country. She helped me around the city and helped me find Inkrat Tattoo where I met Rei and Hata. Rei looked at my busted ass portfolio and walked away and started tuning a machine, he said it was a gift for me. A new liner. That motherfucker rules. He let me tattoo in his shop and took me out to dinner the night before I left. I want to go back and work with those guys again when it isnt freezing outside.

Japan is the safest most courteous place I have been in the past year. Possibly ever. I spent the past year in South America and there are a ton of people out there that want to catch you slipping and gank your shit. I had sex with a girl in the jungle city of Iquitos in Northern Peru. She had a huge hand poked cross on her upper right arm and some other stuff scattered around her little jungle body. I thought she was cool man, she seemed hip. I mean that tattoo was fucking huge!

I ended up following her around for the rest of the night, like a dog in heat. Towards the end, while we were riding in a tuk tuk she leaned over and patted me on the shoulder, whispering in my ear she said … you no worry okay, after we go and we have the sex. I WAS SOLD!

When we got back to my hotel she got in the shower, I followed her in a couple minutes later. She had my razor and was shaving her Peruvian muff. I was a little taken aback. We got out of the shower and did the deed. I may have liked it more if she didn’t have breast milk. She went back for another shower and was in there forever, so I knocked on the door, she opened it, spraying herself with my Old Spice. She got dressed, kissed me on the cheek and said – maybe i see you tomorrow yeah? That was it she was out.

I stood there wondering what the fuck just happened. While I was washing my balls I looked over at the toilet and remembered that I had left my Ipod out, when I was taking a shower earlier. It wasn’t on top of the toilet like it was earlier, she ganked it. Fuuuuck. God Damnit. Son of a bitch! Puta Madre!

A minute or two later, while I was letting this all sink in, there was a knock at the door. It was the dude from the front desk. You pay extra for visitor he said with his hand out. For real? Luckily I got to tell one person to fuck off that night. The people in South America were amazing and inspirational but there were a good group of them that wanted their hands in your pockets. Japan was the Yin to South America’s Yang. You could leave your Ipod, Ipad, Blackberry and your laptop on a table for a half hour unsupervised and no one will even come close to touching it.

Daily life in Tokyo

Trash Mouth

My new buddy Abram let me crash on his couch for a couple days which helped ease the pain of the exchange rate. He took me out for dinner with some of his friends, where we ate horse meat sashimi and gyoza and squid and fish and pork, it was delicious. He took me out for all sorts of local favorites. We ate a ton of Ramen which I never really appreciated until now. One bowl was one of the ten best things I have ever eaten in my life. Most of the Ramen places we went to you ordered food from a vending machine whch gives you a ticket you hand in at the counter.

Abram even took me to an amateur pole dancing night at a bar on the 5th floor of a random building.

All in all, there was not much trouble to get into while in Tokyo and that was a nice change. Smoked a little weed, drank a lot of coffee and wandered around. I have come to realize in a lot of ways that I am a product of my environment. I like to party but I also like to chill and relax and read and write and paint and draw. Things you just cant do when surrounded by the constant movement of the party train. Tokyo provided a nice change of pace even if only for 9 days. I went sightseeing and saw a lot of things I could not really comprehend, but there was reference galore.

It is sometimes overwhelming how fast I visit these places, how fast it all goes.
I am in Bolivia, I am in New York, I am in San Francisco, I am in Tokyo, I am in Bangkok…

Which is up next…
